Last year this home went on the market with a few brags about the boxwood bushes that were a gift from Jackie Kennedy. But it turns out that isn't the only connection it has to Georgetown's elite socializing circles. The home was previously owned by the last person to privately own the Hope Diamond—a woman by the name of Evalyn Walsh McLean. Glancing through the photos it seems a fitting place for one of DC's most prominent former socialites to have hung out with all her jewels (besides owning the 45-carat Hope Diamond, she also owned the 94-carat Star of the East). The house is modest, by socialite standards, with 2,663 square feet and 3 bedrooms, 3 baths. It didn't find a buyer at its previous price of $1,795,000 so now the ask has dropped down to $1,695,000.
